Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a household worker. Her upbringing was within a household that included four brothers. While she was a small girl, Delaney wanted to become a reporter for the court. However, in high school her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. In her teens her first appearance as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of film and television dramas. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. In the past, this gifted actress was struggling to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fail. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of her only child that she had.
